I’m As Mad As Hell! [Video]

One of my student’s shared this video on Facebook, and this is from an old English movie called Network (1976). It really inspired me, so I thought I’d paste it on my blog for all the people to realize what the traditional media is doing to us. We need such a revolution for our country and we need to get up and bring that change ourselves rather than sitting on our seats and expecting the corrupt politicians and the so called higher authorities to do something about it! Long Live Pakistan!

Check out the video below and share it if you get what I am talking about!

Copying Is Not Theft? Is it Fun? Yeah Right!

Okay so what do you think? Is copying theft or not? Well its commonly known as plagiarism if we copy someone else’s work are try to show it as our own. Yes that is what is commonly accepted.

I was surprised to watch a very interesting video today. It’s named “Copying Is Not Theft.” The video is made by an animator named Nina Paley, who recorded the video track in her voice. She is asking the internet world to make music for this video however anyone wants it. Its a very catchy song with a cute animation. But the lyrics actually made me laugh into tears. I mean, the way she sings the song and the lyrics are written it makes you think for a second that copying is actually fun. Check out the video below before we carry on with our discussion:

Nina Paley is an animator and she has experienced that it is much more profitable if people remove the copyright restrictions. Nina experienced it herself when she launched her film “Sita Sings the Blues” for free over the internet. She believes that if everyone is allowed to sell your content, screen your content or make copies of your content, it eventually helps a person more rather than going through a traditional distribution channel. For further details on “Sita Sings the Blues” and how Nina benefited from that campaign, check this out: http://questioncopyright.org/sita_distribution

So what do you think? Isn’t copying fun? In my opinion, it depends how you leverage the platforms that are available.

The McDonald’s Rap

Just though I’d drop in for a random post today. In fact I couldn’t resist posting this up. Yea Yea .. I know its old.. I have seen it a long time back too .. but just got a chance to watch this video again today.. so I thought I’d put it up on my blog to share.

Interesting rap by this guy about McDonald’s. The video is shared on Youtube, and he has done other rap videos as well.. but this one just caught my attention.

That’s the power of consumers talking about a brand. Every brand strives to get to this stage… I’ve done too much talking I guess.. I should stop .. and you better watch the video if you haven’t .. So here goes:

Disability Campaign: We Dont Need Your Pity! We Need Respect!

Since I had a chance to take a PR (Public Relation) course in the summers in order to complete the course count for my MBA, we had to make a PR video campaign as our project. We were a group of a good 8 to 9 people and had to come up with a campaign, through which we can create awareness in SZABIST for disabled students. At present SZABIST does not have a wheel chair friendly environment, and hence we had to focus on creating awareness within SZABIST and then drive a change. Because we were targeting an internal audience, we made the following clips on a few assumptions. The tagline we used in order to keep synergy among all our videos was “We dont need your pity! We need respect!” …  I’m starring (=P) in the first video, but this was discarded, as I assume, the teacher thought I was the only one who worked. But oh well.. do check the following clips and give your feedback…

1st Clip – 45 sec
