… And We Mourn Again

From 23rd till 31st March, we’ve had 5 days off including 3 strikes, a national day and a weekend. Can someone please answer a very important question here? How are daily wage workers going to survive?

Any political party can call a strike at any possible time, and the public has to abide by it, because some paid members of the parties, agencies or anyone for that matter start burning vehicles and killing people?

If ANY political party supports or stays silent on the violence created by its members, it is an act of crime. Such a party should not even be permitted to take part in any political involvements either. Because if anyone who can’t even be concerned beyond 2 lines of public announcement of their sorrow, doesn’t even deserve a political right.

And then at the end of everything we say army rule has been bad? I’m not a supporter of the army rule or anything. I don’t even go near politics. I just know, that we’ve seen safer times and much prosperity in this country.

Just by playing blame games and pointing fingers does not fix anything. When the so-called leaders and their people can’t unite under the umbrella of one nation, they deserve a dictator.

Rounding it up to the question I asked earlier: “What would you suggest a daily wage worker to do, when there are 3 strikes in a week and there is nothing he could give his family to eat? No wonder issues like poverty and unemployment have plagued us. And then, some might lead on to becoming criminals. We’ve been destroying our own nation for our own lust and hunger for power and money. Let’s start putting ourselves in other people’s shoes and feel the pain.”

There Is No Age For Learning

coding

In the last few months, specially since I’ve been running Sociality360, I wish I knew how to code. That’s one major element that was missing in being a startup CEO of a social media / technology think-tank. Though I have already dived into a bit of PHP, HTML and CSS for basic understanding through trial and error, but due to the lack of time, I haven’t been able to delve into too much detail. However, now I really feel I need to enter this alien territory. To be honest, I think its kind of becoming a passion for me. I was lucky enough to have Mr. Azhar Rizvi at our office last month and it was kind of him to give us some of his precious time. He advised us the same thing. He said we need to get our hands dirty if we need to go further in this area of business. I have been following his advice like a bible.

Well now you know I’m stepping into hard core coding. And I’m excited to visualize myself as a developer in the near future. I’m pretty focused in what I want to achieve and will be seeking advice from my friends who are pro developers. I want to master multiple platforms and want to be at a point where I can make online games, mobile games and applications. Online gaming and mobile gaming is big, and I picture myself working on some next big ideas. I haven’t even played games in the longest time, but this new passion is surely going to be pretty action packed! Let’s see what what happens. Fingers crossed!

2011 Was An Interesting Year

2011 sarosh waiz

Before I end up giving excuses for not being able to blog since the longest time, lets get this straight. I have not been blogging AT ALL since a long while because I had been too busy trying to keep up with my startups and projects.

2011 was a very interesting year for me. Especially because I made so many enemies, that I have lost count! Well that’s what happens and that’s exactly what you need to succeed when you run a startup, and when you decide to put your foot down on the things and decisions that you don’t agree with.

Following have been the highlights for the year 2011:

  • Worked on some major launches at my previous employer
  • Resigned from a fixed job (yet again), and set out to build my own startups
  • Launched Sociality360 as a co-founder and made it self-sustainable after lots of ups and downs
  • Won the Pakistan Annual Blog Awards for the ‘Best Marketing Blog’ by CIO Pakistan for 2nd time in 2 years
  • Started work on augmented reality platform from Sociality360
  • Learnt about scam investors in the country (BEWARE) and how to recognize them
  • Got a new office space for Sociality360
  • Launched the One Rupee Project teaser phase
  • End of Enterakt because of a fallout with my ex-partner

Maybe I Know …

Maybe I know somewhere deep in my soul, that love never lasts. And we’ve got to find other ways, to make it alone or keep a straight face.

And I’ve always lived like this. Keeping a comfortable distance.

And up until now I swored to myself, that I’m content with the loneliness, because none of it was ever worth the risk.

Quote # 1 – My Future Self
