I had been traveling a lot recently and unfortunately when you are doing that with an upset stomach, its difficult not to pay a visit to public washrooms. Please don’t get me wrong because I’m not being descriptive about any sort of public

washrooms since we all know how they are. In fact, today’s post is more specifically about washrooms at the airport, and why is it weird to go there. Now try to imagine the suspense in the scene that I am trying to create in the paragraph below.. the scene focused on how you feel when you are going to a public washroom:

“Your stomach is growling and you’re making a run for your life towards the door with a sign that says ‘washroom’ … controlling your expressions… gradually reaching the final destination.. you push the door and it opens with a creaking sound… and as soon as you enter .. a squeaky voice from one of the corners greets you … ‘Slamalaikum Sir’

.. freaked out.. you look towards one of ur sides and see a person standing with full respect .. hands folded .. and trying to push a forced grin… you’re scared.. you look at that person .. and try to keep your expressions unchanged .. and then you think ‘what the hell? is that person a forced assistant for washroom services’ ..  all of this makes u feel

uncomfortable.. and you try your level best to ignore the person and get in the loo as soon as you see a vacant one available…

All the time you’re in the loo .. the sight of that forced grin that you just saw.. haunts you .. because the nightmare is still not over.. you get done with whatever you had to do .. and you take a deep breath.. get out of the loo .. and make a run towards the wash basin so you can get out of the washroom without having any possible encounter with the person who greeted you.. as soon as you’re done washing ur hands.. suddenly a hand approaches right besides you .. to offer you tissues … totally ignoring this ever happened.. you quickly run towards the hand drying machine at the other end .. but the horrifying fact is that the strange person runs besides you towards that machine .. and to add further to your horror… he outruns you and makes the hand drying machine work for you .. even if you could do it yourself with just one tap…”

I know the post was totally senseless and you would be cursing me by now :P , but I tried to transcribe exactly what I had felt when I had to visit the washrooms at the airport. Its crazy that there are no checks on such sort of activity of the workers, who do such stuff to get some tip out of the passengers. And its just not a normal expectation that they have, they try to force every bit of guilt out of you to get it.

Okay .. now imagine this… what if you are sitting in the loo.. thinking that you have some personal space and security atleast.. and suddenly a hand appears inside from under to door to offer you tissues and the muslim shower… LOL .. and then you get up scared to the highest level.. to flush .. and another hand appears to flush it for you …

Okay I could go on and on with this.. and before I go out of my mind .. lets end this here.. but seriously.. this is crazy!

That’s one reason why I eat properly and make sure that I don’t have to use public toilets. Whatever happened to privacy in public spaces? I bet you could make a movie out of this. However I think the person took a shine to you and it ain’t your fault.
