I already wrote about what happened at the event on the PakMediaBlog and if you want to check it out, please click the link below:

Well .. it was a good event .. I appreciate companies approaching bloggers to meet up and understand the importance of this medium. I had the misfortune of working for a few clients who don’t really understand the difference between blogging and advertising. Before I get in my pissed off mood, its better if I divert from this debate.

Since I attended a bloggers meet up for the first time I was on a silent mode of observing people. I usually have a habit of observing people before I actually open my mouth. It was one of those days when I was observing everyone there.. I had fun observing a lot of people talk and share their opinions.

I met Mr Khalid Muhammad there, who was the organizer and he really was a gem of a person and it was a pleasure meeting him. It was more of an informal discussion on how should HP target its audience through the blogosphere as well as generally.  The discussion also included the question of ‘what more functionality do people need in laptops, specifically netbooks.

Everything was going good, when one chap from the company actually tried to play a little smart. Since he joined in late, he thought it was more of a press conference. He came in the front, introduced himself and started to answer questions on the basis of PR rules. I have had the chance to study PR (Public Relations) twice under two different course names so I could actually relate to how he attempted to answer the questions. Honestly, it was funny .. and it also ended up offending a lot of bloggers there, including myself. Though it cooled down later… But overall the event was good!

Check out the pictures below which I managed to get at the event.

Arsenal Wins Against Liverpool

With 1-0 down against Liverpool at the end of the first half, Arsenal pull the match off with a 2-1 win over Liverpool. A better performance as compared to the 1st half, they managed to get two goals. The equalizer was an own goal by Johnson, who got a bit unlucky, but it would be wrong if I say Arshavin did not have any part to play in that goal.

The second goal was a screamer by Arshavin! When he got the pass at the edge of the box, I did think that he would take an off the goal shoot. But the shoot actually bulleted in the goal after getting an inside edge. Fantastic! Reina actually had no chance…

Chelsea is at the top of the table with 37 points having played 16 games. Manchester United stand at second with 34 points in 16 games. And after the win today at Anfield, Arsenal crawls up to 31 points in 15 games. Finally we have a real chance of winning the title after 2004 …

Not bad… Finally things are starting to get better at the Emirates… and I hope it only gets better … Okay I’m relieved now, lets get off the soccer topic …

Hail The Gunners!

EPL: Liverpool vs Arsenal (13th December 2009)

Arsenal makes the trip to Anfield this Sunday in EPL and almost everyone has disregarded Arsenal and Liverpool out of the top four… its stupid and too early to say anything … I have been listening to these stories since the last 4 to 5 years …

I have no clue why everyone just talks about Manchester United and Chelsea as only being the two title contenders. Its just the start of the season and the British media just likes to speculate and sell their content! Its stupid when the league is so open … all these idiots had nothing to say when Manchester United lost to Aston Villa yesterday and dropped 3 points? Even the Chelsea and Everton game ended in a draw, and Chelsea dropped 2 points.. and they were roaring that they are invincibles.. yeah right!!

Arsenal still has a game in hand .. and if they win against Liverpool, they will be only 2 points behind Man Utd with one game in hand. These stupid media and PR tactics get on to my nerves seriously… Grow up people… oh please… pretty please!

Update: It’s half time and Arsenal are 1-0 down at the moment … the game has been good .. but Liverpool is dominating the game with possession and attempts on goal… We still need a solid performance from Arsenal in the second half…  The second half is about to start … I’m off for now…

Attending the HP Bloggers Meet in Karachi!

Just woke up on a boring Sunday, its 1:25 pm right now, and I am about to get ready to go to the HP Bloggers Meet in Karachi. The event is at 4 pm so I think I’ll leave my house around 3:15 pm with a 15 minute drive to Royale Rodale ..

I had already posted about this event earlier on my other blog i.e., PakMediaBlog.net, where I asked people to register for the event. If you haven’t registered … too bad … since the registrations are closed now!

I’ve heard a lot of bloggers from Karachi would be coming to the event. So its a good chance for me to go out there and meet my fellow bloggers for the first time since I had been blogging in isolation because of too much stress on me in in the last 8 months ..

I’ve mentioned before that there is always a good way to blog for brands and in my opinion, this is a good step by HP to jump into the blogosphere and get noticed. Its great to see brands recognizing the importance of social media.

Social Media has been a big thing always.. but it did not get that high recognition .. and its about time that this medium is developing into a proper communication channel now.

See Ya! .. Will write about the event details more when I get back from the event in the evening ..
